When the son's gambling problem leads to the financial ruin of the de Salis family, it unravels like a ball of yarn showing the dysfunction went deeper than anyone knew.
My rating: 4.5 Stars
My opinion: This was just good writing. I couldn't help as though I was looking at the destruction of this family through a window and given the view to the destruction of a family. Broken down into 6 different books with each being written for a different POV, the reader was given insight into everyone's thoughts.
On a side note, I had a really tough time with this book for about the first 150 pages. I felt the first part of book kind of dragged on to me. When the story of Sarah and Patrick started, the book absolutely took off. So, hang in there!
